Star wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson took to Instagram on Monday to share a video of him singing ‘Pehla Nasha’ with India’s assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. The video of Sanju showing off his singing skills during Team India’s bonding session ahead of the start of the T20I series against England is going viral on the internet. Sanju captioned the post, “Nothing is impossible !!! Njan paadi. Mein Mumbai aa sakta hu?”

India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, took note of Samson’s post and dropped a cheeky comment that read, “Aap Mumbai aa rahe hai lekin Chennai Rajkot Pune audition ke baad.”

India is set to play five T20Is against England in Kolkata, Chennai, Rajkot, Pune, and Mumbai, and Surya’s comment indicated the same.

Samson, who will open for India in the home series against the English team, has impressed fans on social media with his singing skills.

Samson’s performance in T20Is

Samson, who made his T20I debut for India in 2015, was in red-hot form last year. The 30-year-old cricketer from Kerala played 13 T20Is and, with the help of three centuries, scored 436 runs. By scoring one century against Bangladesh and two against South Africa, Samson entered his name in history books as he became the first player in the world to score three T20I centuries in a calendar year.

Samson is all set to open for India in the five T20Is against England, and the right-handed batter would like to maintain his red-hot form in the home series.

Shami set to return

Star fast bowler Mohammed Shami will make his long-awaited India comeback during the T20I series against England. The 34-year-old pacer last played for India in the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia in Ahmedabad, and since then he has been out of action due to an ankle injury. After remaining on the sidelines for 14 months, Shami was named in India’s squad for the home series on January 11, and he will lead India’s fast bowling attack in the series opener at his adopted home ground on Wednesday.

During the T20I series at home, Arshdeep Singh will also have a chance to become the first Indian bowler to take 100 wickets in the shortest format of the game. He has 95 wickets to his name in 60 matches played so far.
