Afghanistan vs South Africa 3rd ODI LIVE:
Hello and welcome to our coverage of the 3rd ODI between Afghanistan vs South Africa taking place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, UAE on Sunday.
Despite the game being a dead rubber, the South African team will be aiming to play for pride as they look to avoid a whitewash. Aiden Markram’s side despite not being at full strength, will hope that the senior stars step up and deliver some key performances.
For the home side, Afghanistan will hope to continue what they have done. The key players like Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rashid Khan and others have stepped up when it matters the most. Hashmatullah Shahidi, the Afghanistan skipper has read the conditions well which in turn allowed the hosts to pick up two massive wins to claim the series. It will be more of the same to possibly complete the clean sweep.
The hosts have showcased some new names to the side and some of them have already shown the quality to possibly be a part of the national set-up in the long run. Afghanistan has been on the rise ever since the T20 World Cup 2024 and now they will hope to continue racking up the wins to establish themselves as a force within the limited-overs scene.
As for the weather in Sharjah, very little chance of rain as the conditions are expected to be hot in the city. Expect clear skies in the evening with conditions becoming even more humid by night-fall.
