PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi missed the ICC meeting due to personal business. CEO Sumair Ahmed attended instead.

The PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, failed to attend the quarterly annual meeting of the ICC after the hosting of the Champions Trophy.
Naqvi was unable to travel to Harare for the recent meetings due to pending personal business in Pakistan.
Naqvi is also the Federal Interior Minister, a key position in the central government.
“Mohsin Naqvi couldn’t go because of work at home, and Sumair Ahmed, the board’s CEO, attended the ICC meetings,” the official said.
Since the meetings ended, there has been silence on the part of the PCB on whether it had further pushed its protest over the failure of the ICC to have a PCB representative on stage for the final presentation ceremony of the Champions Trophy in Dubai.
The PCB had sent several reminders to the ICC after the CT final on March 19, asking for an explanation as to why none of its representatives were on stage despite Pakistan being the hosts of the tournament.
It is understood that ICC will never give any official reasons, as only the ICC chairman, board member or head of the state can be on stage for the trophy ceremony.
Besides an appreciation to the PCB for successfully organizing the Champions Troph,y there was no word from the ICC on the PCB protest.
The situation apparently remains the same after the ICC meeting as neither the sports world governing body nor the PCB have said anything on the issue.
Interestingly, Sumair Ahmed who attended the ICC was also the only PCB senior official present in Dubai for the CT final.
A reliable source said that the ICC meetings had discussed having a two-tier system for the World Test Championship but what stance the PCB took on this is unknown because of the silence from the PCB.
The ICC and PCB have also yet to finalize the financial matters of the Champions Trophy although the PCB claims it has earned three billion rupees from hosting the CT.
This amount is besides the shares the ICC distributes among its full Test and associate member countries from the tournament earnings.
