Overall, she aggregated 309 runs, the highest in the tournament with an average of 77.25, and was adjudged the Player of the Tournament. She also smashed the first and only century in the tournament’s history against Scotland.
Speaking about her historic achievement which includes hitting a century in front of her father in the Super Six match, Trisha described it as her favourite moment. “Winning the World Cup for the second time remains my favorite moment of the tournament. Also, hitting the century in front of my father was a special feeling, and becoming the Player of the Tournament is surely the icing on the cake,” she told the Times of India.
Trisha also explained that the way she “dominated the tournament” gave her a pleasing feeling and credited the team management for her success. “Our coaches kept talking about the kind of wicket and condition we would get in Malaysia and we practiced on such wickets. That has helped us a lot.” Trisha stated that she never imagined her historic century to happen in the particular match against Scotland.
