Since making his international debut for India in January 2016, Bumrah has picked up 205, 149, and 89 wickets in 45 Tests, 89 ODIs, and 70 T20Is, respectively.
Star England fast bowler Tymal Mills, who shared the dressing room with Jasprit Bumrah during his association with Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2022, has reserved big praise for the Indian star. According to Mills, who last played for the English team in December 2023, 31-year-old Bumrah is the best bowler in the world across all three formats.
Bumrah was in red-hot form for India in the recently concluded five-match Test series against Australia. He played in all five matches and accounted for the dismissal of 32 batters.
Mills feels Bumrah, who has more than 400 wickets to his name in international cricket since making his debut against Australia in January 2016, is a prized asset, and any team will be lucky to have him.
“Jasprit is definitely the best bowler in the world across all three formats. He’s a special bowler in Test cricket, 50-over cricket, and T20s. A lovely guy as well. I really enjoyed my time in Mumbai, spending time with him and speaking to him both on and off the field. Any team that has him is very lucky. He’s an excellent bowler in all phases of the game,” Mills was quoted as saying by Times of India.
“He’s obviously a prized asset, and you have to look after him. If you need to give him rest sporadically to keep him at his best for long periods, then I’m sure they’ll do that. He’s obviously a fantastic bowler,” he added.
Bumrah has been dealing with back spasms these days, and due to that, there is uncertainty over his participation in the upcoming three-match ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy 2025.
‘Arshdeep has great skills’
32-year-old Mills, who has also played for RCB in the IPL, reserved big praise for Arshdeep Singh by saying that the left-arm pacer has got great skills and he swings the ball both ways.
“I like Arshdeep Singh, the left-arm seamer. I know he’s not new or up-and-coming, but he’s got great skills and swings the ball both ways. There are lots of fast bowlers in India now who are coming up, improving themselves, and getting opportunities in the IPL.”
