Arjun dismantled Arunachal’s batting order, dismissing their top five batters – Neelam Obi, Nabam Hachang, Chinmay Patil, Jay Bhavsar and Moji Ete.
Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, hogged the limelight on Wednesday with his first-ever five-wicket haul in first-class cricket. Representing Goa, the left-arm pacer ran through Arunachal’s top order in the Ranji Trophy Plate Division fixture. Tendulkar returned 5 for 25 in just nine overs, helping Goa bundle out Arunachal for a paltry 85.

Arunachal skipper Nabam Abo chose to bat first, but the decision didn’t work out. Arjun made an impact right from his first over by dismissing Hachang for zero. He continued to take wickets, bringing Arunachal down to 36/5, and ended up achieving his first-ever five-wicket haul in the Ranji Trophy.
Arjun Tendulkar got strong support from Mohit Redkar (3/15) and Keith Mark Pinto (2/31), as Goa bowled out the visiting team in just 30.3 overs. Arjun, who turned 25 in September, is working hard to make a mark in his career. Last year, he moved from Mumbai to Goa for better playing opportunities.
A Timely Reminder to Franchises Before Mega Auction
Arjun Tendulkar’s recent performance is a timely reminder for IPL franchises just ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, scheduled for November 24 and 25 in Jeddah. Arjun spent four years with the Mumbai Indians from 2021 to 2024. Despite making his IPL debut in 2023 after being re-signed by the franchise for INR 30 lakh, his opportunities were limited.
Over two seasons, he appeared in only five matches, where he claimed three wickets with an economy rate of 9.37. Although his contributions were modest, his latest spell suggests he has grown and could be a valuable addition for teams looking for promising players in the upcoming auction. As the auction date approaches, his recent achievements might encourage franchises to consider him as a potential pick for the next season.
