Representing Goa in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Arjun picked up three wickets against Odisha in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match on Monday to complete 50 wickets in white-ball cricket
Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, achieved a remarkable milestone in his cricketing journey. The left-arm pacer picked up three wickets against Odisha in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match on Monday, completing 50 wickets in white-ball cricket. Notably, the achievement comes weeks after his snub from Goa’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy squad following a series of lacklustre performances.
Arjun, who began his T20 career with Mumbai in 2021 before moving to Goa, has now taken 51 wickets in 41 white-ball games. This includes 24 wickets in 17 List A matches and 27 wickets in 24 T20 games. His cricketing journey kicked off with Mumbai at the junior level, where he also represented India in the U19 team. In the 2022/23 season, he shifted to Goa, where he made his First-Class and List A debut.
In red-ball cricket, Arjun has played 17 matches, scoring 532 runs, including a century and two half-centuries, taking 37 wickets, and taking one five-wicket haul. In List A games for Goa, he has contributed with both bat and ball, scoring 76 runs in nine innings.
Arjun’s recent performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, however, were disappointing. He conceded 48 runs in four overs against Mumbai, 19 runs in three overs against Services, and 36 runs in 3.4 overs against Andhra Pradesh. With Goa struggling during that campaign, the team management opted to drop him.
Despite these setbacks, Arjun’s recent milestone highlights his potential and determination. With his bowling skills now shining in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the young cricketer seems poised for a stronger comeback in the domestic circuit.
