Bhanu Pania remained unbeaten on 134 runs from 51 balls, and three more batters scored 50 to help Baroda post a total of 349 runs on the board for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.
Krunal Pandya-led Baroda men’s cricket team created history on Thursday (December 5) by posting the highest ever total in T20s. Baroda achieved the feat during the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 match played against Sikkim at Emerald Heights International School Ground in Indore. Baroda rode on No. 3 batter Bhanu Pania’s unbeaten 134-run knock from 51 balls to post a total of 349 runs on the board for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. During his stay at the crease, Pania hammered five fours and 15 sixes. He added 94 runs for the third wicket with Shivalik Sharma (55 runs from 17 balls) and 88 runs for the fourth wicket with Vishnu Solanki (50 runs from 16 balls).
Before Baroda, the record of the highest total in T20s was in the name of Zimbabwe, which posted 344 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs against Gambia in Nairobi on October 23, 2024.
During the first half of the match, Sikkim bowler Roshan conceded 81 runs in his quota of four overs and picked up two wickets. His figures of 4-0-81-2 are the third-most expensive bowling performance in the shortest format of the game.

For Baroda, in the ongoing match before Pania took the Sikkim bowlers to the cleaners, openers Shashwat Rawat and Abhimanyu Singh hammered Sikkim players to all corners of the ground. The duo added 92 runs for the first wicket in just 5.1 overs. Rawat was dismissed for 43 runs from 16 balls (4 fours, 4 sixes) by Roshan, and Abhimanyu hammered 53 runs from just 17 balls. During his stay at the crease, he hammered four fours and five sixes.
A total of four batters scored more than 50 runs for Baroda in the match, and the strike rate of all of them was more than 250.
