India’s chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, on Saturday, January 18, announced India’s squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Rohit Sharma, who also attended the press conference organised by the BCCI at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, will lead India in the eight-team ICC tournament, and Shubman Gill will be his deputy. India last played an ODI match on August 7, 2024, against Sri Lanka in Colombo, and as many as 10 players who featured in that series have managed to retain their place in the squad for the Champions Trophy, which is set to be played from February 19 to March 9 across three venues in Pakistan and one in Dubai.

Here’s a look at the complete list of changes in India’s ODI team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 from the last 50-over series played against Sri Lanka in August 2024:

In addition to Siraj, fast bowlers Khaleel Ahmed and Harshit Rana and all-rounders Shivam Dube and Riyan Parag have also been left out of the 50-over side. While Burmah, Shami, and Jadeja last played a 50-over match for India in the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia at Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19, 2023, Hardik’s last ODI match for India was against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19, 2023. Mumbai’s 23-year-old left-handed top-order batter Yashasvi Jaiswal is also part of India’s Champions Trophy squad.
