LSG retained five players for Rs 51 crore from the 2024 squad and signed as many as 19 players for Rs 68.90 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Lucknow Super Giants signed star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant for Rs 27 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, which took place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah. By securing a deal worth Rs 27 crore, Pant became the most expensive player in the history of the world’s richest franchise cricket league. Apart from the left-handed Indian batter, LSG also signed the likes of Australia’s T20I captain Mitchell Marsh and South Africa’s T20I captain Aiden Markram and secured the services of David Miller and Matthew Breetzke for Rs 7.50 crore and Rs 75 lakh, respectively.

The Lucknow-based franchise used RTM for West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph and signed Indian pacers Akash Deep and Avesh Khan, along with all-rounders Abdul Samad and Shahbaz Ahmed, among others.

After retaining five players for Rs 51 crore from the IPL 2024 squad, LSG spent a total of Rs 68.90 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction to sign 19 players.

Here’s a look at LSG’s strongest playing XI for IPL 2025:

Rishabh Pant (C & WK): Pant, who is DC’s leading run scorer and most capped player in IPL history, will play for LSG in IPL 2025. The 27-year-old stumper is likely to be announced as the new captain of the franchise after being signed for Rs 27 crore in the mega auction. In IPL 2025, Pant could be seen playing as an opener for LSG.

Aiden Markram: LSG signed South Africa’s T20I captain Aiden Markram for Rs 2 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 30-year-old right-handed batter, who has played for PBKS and SRH in the past, overall has 995 runs and 2 wickets to his name in 44 IPL matches played so far.

Mitchell Marsh: Australia’s T20I captain Mitchell Marsh, who was part of DC in IPL 2024, will play for LSG in IPL 2025. The batting all-rounder was signed by the Lucknow-based franchise for Rs 3.40 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Marsh has represented a total of five teams in the IPL so far and has 665 runs and 37 wickets to his name in 42 matches.

Nicholas Pooran: Former West Indies T20I captain Nicholas Pooran was retained by LSG for Rs 21 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The left-handed batter played 14 matches for the franchise in IPL 2024 and scored 499 runs.

Ayush Badoni: Uncapped Indian batter Ayush Badoni was retained for Rs 4 crore by LSG ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 24-year-old cricketer from Delhi made his IPL debut in 2022 and has scored 634 runs in 42 matches played so far.

David Miller: Former PBKS captain David Miller, who played for GT in the IPL from 2022 to 2024, will be seen in action for LSG next year. The left-handed batter from South Africa, who has 2924 runs to his name in 130 IPL matches played so far, was signed by the Lucknow-based franchise for Rs 7.50 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Shahbaz Ahmed: Bengal’s spin bowling all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed was signed for Rs 2.40 crore by LSG in the IPL 2025 mega auction. In 55 IPL matches played so far for RCB and SRH, the 29-year-old cricketer has scored 536 runs and picked up 21 wickets.

Ravi Bishnoi: Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi was retained for Rs 11 crore by LSG ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 24-year-old spinner is LSG’s leading wicket-taker in IPL history and overall has dismissed 63 batters in 66 matches played so far.

Akash Deep: LSG signed Bengal pacer Akash Deep for Rs 8 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Akash Deep has played 8 matches so far in the IPL for RCB and has 7 wickets to his name.

Avesh Khan: Avesh Khan, who was traded by LSG to RR ahead of IPL 2024, will represent LSG again after being signed for Rs 9.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 27-year-old fast bowler from Madhya Pradesh has 74 wickets to his name in 63 IPL matches played so far for four teams.

Mayank Yadav: LSG retained Mayank Yadav for Rs 11 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Mayank made his IPL debut in 2024 and only played four matches in which he picked up seven wickets.

Other players: Abdul Samad (Rs 4.20 crore), Mohsin Khan (Rs 4 crore, RTM), Matthew Breetzke (Rs 75 lakh), Shamar Joseph (Rs 75 lakh), M Siddharth (Rs 75 lakh), Arshin Kulkarni (Rs 30 lakh), Rajvardhan Hangargekar (Rs 30 lakh), Yuvraj Chaudhary (Rs 30 lakh), Prince Yadav (Rs 30 lakh), Avesh Singh (Rs 30 lakh), Digvesh Singh (Rs 30 lakh), Himmat Singh (Rs 30 lakh), Aryan July (Rs 30 lakh)
