India Women’s cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues’ musical talent is not a secret anymore. The 24-year-old may have gained popularity with her batting prowess. But those who follow her social media activities must be aware of what Jemimah can do with a guitar in hand.
Her entertaining persona has once again come to light in a recent post by Trinbago Knight Riders. The franchise dropped an old video on X (formerly Twitter) where Jemimah was captured enjoying a jamming session with Australian cricketer Jess Jonassen.
The duo was playing guitar while sitting on stairs and their synchronisation was really commendable. Jess was also heard humming a soothing track, with Jemimah supporting her teammate with the tune. “The Jess & Jemi Jamming session! Concert soon at the Caribbean, girls?” Trinbago Knight Riders wrote in the caption.
Jemimah and Jonassen were two key members of the Trinbago Knight Riders who finished runners-up in the 2024 Women’s Caribbean Premier League. Jemimah wrapped up the tournament as the fifth-highest scorer.
The Indian batter registered 105 runs in five appearances at an average of 26.25 and a strike rate of 108.25. Meanwhile, Jonassen picked four wickets in five matches while conceding 97 runs in 18 overs. Trinbago Knight Riders were up against Barbados Royals in the final and lost the match by four wickets.
Jemimah and Jonassen were last seen together in the Women’s Big Bash League where they represented Brisbane Heat. During a playoff game against Sydney Thunder, Jemimah sustained a wrist injury while attempting to save a boundary. Despite the discomfort, she came in to bat in the second innings and chipped in with a vital 43-run knock.
Riding on her contributions, Brisbane Heat won the knockout game by nine wickets to reach the WBBL final. Jemimah was available in the summit clash against Melbourne Renegades. However, she was unable to showcase her A-game with the bat and managed to survive just five deliveries, scoring one run.
The Renegades batted first and set a target of 142 runs. With the rain playing spoilsport, Brisbane had to chase 98 runs in 12 overs as per the DLS method. The Jonassen-led side ultimately fell seven runs short of the revised target, losing six wickets along the way.
