Sri Lanka pacer Dasun Shanaka was hit for a bucketload of runs during his latest outing in the Abu Dhabi T10.

The 10-over-a-side game between the Delhi Bulls and Bangla Tigers witnessed the 33-year-old leak 30 runs in the first three deliveries of the penultimate over.

The Tigers were at 72 runs for the loss of 6 wickets when Shanaka walked in to deliver the second from last over.

Shanaka opened with a full-toss which was smashed away for four runs by Nikhil Chaudhary in the opening delivery of the over, before the Lankan seamer erred with his footing with two no-balls on the bounce.

Chaudhary utilised the illegal deliveries for another couple of boundaries as the Lankan bowler had already conceded 14 runs in the first delivery of the over.

Things went from bad to worse for Shanaka as his full-length ball aimed at the legs of Chaudhary was whacked away for a maximum and the Tigers had 20 runs in the first two deliveries of the over.

Shanaka continued to deliver two more no balls, which were paddled away from a single on the first instance by Chaudhary, before Shabad Khan, his partner at the crease, put the second one away for four runs.

Having conceded 30 runs in the first three legal deliveries of his over, Shanaka came back strong in the final three deliveries of the over limiting the batters to three back-to-back singles.

Chaudhary’s unbeaten 47 runs off 16 deliveries powered the Tigers to a total of 123/6 at the end of the innings.

Shanaka, however, made up for his follies with the ball in the second innings of the game as the Sri Lankan added 33 runs to the board with the willow in hand off just 14 deliveries after coming in to bat at the crucial number three position to set up the chase in good stead.

Englishman Liam Livingstone’s half-century off just 15 balls took the Delhi side over the line as two deliveries and seven wickets to spare.
