David Warner, after being unsold in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, has put his name in the PSL Draft for the upcoming season.

After not receiving any bids in the 2025 Indian Premier League Mega Auction, the legendary David Warner has decided to put his name in the hat as a marquee player for the Pakistan Super League Draft for Season 10.
The official handle of the PSL confirmed the news on X with a post saying, “Ending 2024 on a high. The Aussie powerhouse David Warner has registered for the PSL Draft”.
The new season is set to begin on April 8 and will end on May 19 where Warner along with some big-name stars from across the globe like New Zealand’s Tim Southee will be participating.
Warner made the move to the PSL after he received no bids in the recently concluded IPL mega auction. He was previously part of the Delhi Capitals and also had a stint with the Sunrisers Hyderabad where he won the title as a captain in the 2016 season.
He also recently retired from international cricket after Australia exited from the Super Eight Stage in the T20 World Cup 2024 held in the West Indies and the USA.
In Tests, Warner has scored a total of 8786 runs from 112 games, averaging at 44.59 with 26 tons. He has scored 6932 runs in the 50-over format averaging just over 45, scoring 22 centuries. He is also Australia’s highest run-scorer in the T20I format with 3277 runs from 110 games at a strike rate of 142.47.
He also holds honours in all three formats. For ODIs, he is a two-time World Cup winner with the 2015 and 2023 titles. He was the Player of the Tournament in Australia’s T20 World Cup title-winning campaign in 2021 and was also part of the squad for the 2021-23 World Test Championship squad.
The veteran southpaw is currently playing in Australia’s Big Bash League where he captains the Sydney Thunder who are third in the table with six points from four games.
Warner will be a fine addition to the league and it remains to be seen who would pick up his talents. His experience as a leader and as a player will be a massive asset for any time that will secure his talents. The PSL Draft is set to be held on January 11, later this month.
