Rishabh Pant joined the long list of India Test stars who produced a flop show on the opening day of their respective Ranji Trophy fixtures that got underway on Thursday across the country. Representing Delhi, Pant managed just one run off 10 deliveries against Saurashtra as he was dismissed by left-arm spinner Dharmendrasinh Jadeja.
Pant is playing in his first Ranji Trophy match since December 2017. It was the final of the season with the wicketkeeper-batter leading Delhi as he managed 21 in the first dig and 32 in the second innings with Vidarbha winning the contest by 9 wickets.
Delhi slipped to 125/6 before captain Ayush Badoni, who had opted to bat first at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, arrested the slide with a half-century in the company of no.8 batter Mayank Gusain.
