A clip is going viral on social media claiming that former Pakistan captain and now a popular commentator Ramiz Raja made a major goof-up during a post-match presentation ceremony of the PSL 2025 match between Multan Sultans vs Lahore Qalandars in Multan on Tuesday.
Raza was presiding over the ceremony when he accidentally ended up uttering IPL instead of PSL while announcing the award for the catch of the match.
As Joshua Little was about to receive the award for his excellent catch to get rid of Lahore Qalandars opener Fakhar Zaman (32), Raja, while praising the Irishman for his fielding, ended up calling it as a potential ‘catch of IPL’ instead of PSL.
Users on social media are having a field day trolling Raja.
Multan Sultans ended poor start to PSL 2025 with their first win of the season. The Mohammad Rizwan-led side lost their first three matches to find themselves struggling at the bottom of the standings.
However, in their first meeting of the ongoing competition with Lahore Qalandars, they put up a fine all-round show for a 33-run win.
Batting first at the Multan Cricket Stadium, the hosts posted a mammoth total of 228/5 in 20 overs. Their innings was powered by a blistering 44-ball 87 from opener Yasir Khan who belted six fours and as many sixes.
Captain Rizwan made 17-ball 32 while Usman Khan hit 39 off 24. Iftikhar Ahmed provided the late fireworks with an unbeaten 18-ball 40 to propel their team to a match-wining total.
For Lahore Qalandars, Sikandar Raza scored an unbeaten fifty while Sam Billings made 43. Ubaid Shah was the pick of the bowlers for the Multan Sultans, finishing with bowling figures of 3/37 from four overs. Michael Bracewell and Usama Mir chipped in with a couple of wickets each.
Yasir won player-of-the-match award.
Multan Sultans will be back in action tonight when they host Islamabad United.
