Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni has debunked a ‘ridiculous rumor’ that he used to drink five litres of milk at a stage in his life. He was asked about such a rumor he might have heard in a sponsor-led talk show with the franchise, and clarified that the most he has drunk milk is a litre spread across a day.
CSK released a short clip of his answer on their social media channels on Tuesday. In it, Dhoni is also jokingly asked whether he makes his Lassi in a washing machine, to which he says that he doesn’t like that drink.

Dhoni took over CSK three matches ago when regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the season due to an injury. Under him, the franchise has lost two matches and won one to remain at last place.
They are coming off a huge nine-wicket defeat to rivals Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. After that match, Dhoni had hinted that the franchise had all but given hope about qualifying this year and were looking to start preparations — like giving youngsters a chance — for the next season.
“With all the games in front of us that we are supposed to win, we will just take it one game at a time,” Dhoni said after the match on the broadcast. “And if we lose a few, what will be important for us [is] to get the right combination for next year. We don’t want too many players getting changed. So I think what will be important is to try and qualify. But if not, get a secured eleven for the next year and come back strong.”
CSK coach Stephen Fleming also said the same thing in the post-match press conference.
“It’s hard, really. It’s not when you’re playing well below par to get enthusiastic about staying in the competition, but that’s what we must do, and yes, there will be an opportunity. Nothing will be wasted during this tournament. We look back at other tournaments that haven’t gone our way and some of the work we have done at the back end of tournaments have set us up for wins in the following year,” Fleming said.
