It’s not everyday that someone gets to celebrate the scalp of one mighty Virat Kohli. Himanshu Sangwan though can proudly claim the same, as the Railways bowler silenced Delhi with his cracking castling of the talisman Indian batter at the Ranji Trophy on Friday.
The 29-year-old pacer Sangwan, who has made headlines all over, breached Kohli’s defense and shattered his stumps to send the talisman batter back to the pavilion.

Kohli, who came out at bat at No. 4 for Delhi in his first Ranji Trophy match after more than 12 years, could only manage to score six runs from 15 balls.

“It was truly a very special moment for me. Virat has inspired countless people in this country and all around the world. Taking his wicket felt like a dream come true for me,” Sangwan exclaimed in an interview with ANI.
When the likes of Kohli opted to partake in the Ranji Trophy, the attention paid to the esteemed tournament skyrocketed.
In fact, with Day One of the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Railways attracting a mind-boggling crowd of 15,000 plus people at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, more security personnel was deployed for Day Two’s play on Friday.
“With Virat bhaiyya coming in to play in the tournament, the Ranji Trophy gained more importance lately. It feels motivating and good for players like us as well,” Sangwan remarked.
‘We get to learn a lot from them (players from the national team playing in Ranji). About how to play, how to train and so many more tidbits. Sharing the dressing room with them is a huge thing that benefits us all.”
