India will face New Zealand in the third and final Group A match of the Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday, March 2, in Dubai. The match between the two star-studded teams is scheduled to take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Team India has won both the Champions Trophy 2025 matches played in Dubai so far, and the Rohit Sharma-led side would like to maintain the winning run against New Zealand as well in Dubai on Sunday and finish as the Group A toppers.
In the last 50-over match played between the two teams, India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs in Mumbai on November 15, 2023, to qualify for the final of the ODI World Cup 2023. In that match, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer scored centuries for the Rohit Sharma-led side, and Mohammed Shami picked up 7 wickets for 57 runs in his quota of 9.5 overs.
Indian team will come into Sunday’s match in Dubai after securing six wicket wins over Bangladesh and Pakistan in the last two matches played in the Champions Trophy 2025, and on the other hand, New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 60 runs and Bangladesh by 5 wickets in Rawalpindi on February 24.
Dubai Weather Forecast:
Dubai will likely experience clear skies during India’s final Champions Trophy group clash against New Zealand on March 2. The chances of precipitation will remain low at one percent. The temperatures will hover around 24 degrees Celsius during the day and 18 degrees Celsius at night. The wind speeds will range between 15 km/h and 25 km/h. The maximum humidity levels should not be more than 52 percent.
Dubai International Stadium Pitch Report:
The pitch at the Dubai International Stadium will likely slow down as the match progresses. The conditions will get tougher for batters in the later stages. Seamers are expected to find some movement early on; however, spinners will likely play a bigger role in the middle overs. India batters have been training extensively to handle spin, knowing the surface will assist slower bowlers in middle overs. India’s opening fixture against Bangladesh saw chasing become a tricky aspect for the Men in Blue. They seemed to be more comfortable during their recent six-wicket win over Pakistan.
