ENG vs AUS 2nd T20I Highlights: Hosts England take on Australia in the second T20 of the three-match series at the Sophia Gardens Cricket Ground on Friday.
Australia hold a 1-0 lead over the hosts in the series following their 28-run win over the English unit a couple of days back at the Aegis Bowl in Hampshire.
Travis Head top-scored for the visitors in the first game as he led from the front with a 53-run knock off just 23 deliveries, while fellow opener Matt SHort chipped in with 41 runs off his willow off just 26 deliveries.
Josh Inglis also came up with a 37-run contribution off the 27 deliveries he face to helps the Aussies post a total of 179 in 19.3 overs before being bundled out by the hosts.
Liam Livingstone was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up a three-wicket haul, while Saqib Mahmood and Jofra Archer scalped two wickets each.
Livingstone also led the English chase with 37 runs with the willow in hand off 27 deliveries, while Phil Salt added 20 runs off 12 balls. Sam Curran chipped in with 18 runs, but the home team ultimately fell short as the Australian pounced on the opportunity to seize an early series lead.
Australian batter Head was bestowed with the Man of the Match award in the first fixture for his spectacular half-century.
The Englishmen will hope for a better showing on Friday to restore parity in the series.
The third and final T20I between the teams on the tour is slated to be held at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester on the 15th of September.
