England have been dealt with a massive injury blow as Mark Wood will not be taking the field today due to a right thigh muscle injury. The hosts will have to make do with their four specialists instead to pick up Sri Lanka’s remaining four wickets to end the second innings.
Sri Lanka on the other hand will be pleased that Dinesh Chandimal is on the crease after he walked out after being struck on the hand. He along with Kamindu Mendis will hope to stretch the lead as far as possible to give the visitors a chance of victory.
Partnerships have not been easy for the Sri Lankan camp, with regular loss of wickets the pressure is constantly on their batting unit. But the pair of Mendis and Chandimal will look to shake off the initial jitters and get their mojo to score as many runs as possible.
As far as the weather is concerned, expect the full day to play out without any interruptions due to rain, which is a positive sign for the England camp.
