Rachin Ravindra has been dropped from CSK’s playing XI for tonight’s IPL 2025 match against SRH at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Chennai Super Kings are taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad in match No. 43 of IPL 2025 on Friday, April 25, at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. SRH skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and invited CSK to bat first in front of their home fans. For tonight’s match, CSK have made three changes to the playing XI. South African batter Dewald Brevis is making his IPL debut for CSK, and he replaced New Zealand batter Rachin Ravindra.
Rachin has struggled to score big runs for the MS Dhoni-led side, and that’s why he has been dropped from the playing XI. In addition to him, Jamie Overton and Vijay Shankar are also out, and they are replaced with Sam Curran and Deepak Hooda, respectively.
As for SRH, they have also made two changes. Sri Lankan all-rounder Kamindu Mendis and Mohammed Shami are back in the side in place of Abhinav Manohar and Rahul Chahar. Travis Head is part of the impact player’s list and is likely to come in during the second innings.
400th T20 for Dhoni
The ongoing match between CSK and SRH at Chepauk Stadium is a special one for legendary Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dhoni as he becomes the fourth Indian cricketer after Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik and Virat Kohli to play 400 or more T20 matches.
In Dhoni’s 400th T20 match, fans will expect him to come up with a big show with the bat and help Chennai Super Kings post a fighting total against SRH in what is a must-win fixture for both the sides. If CSK lose against SRH in Chennai, then the MS Dhoni-led side will get knocked out of the playoffs race.
