The International Cricket Council (ICC) posted photos of India’s Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya wearing different colour caps during the official Champions Trophy photo shoot on Monday.
Many fans were left scratching their heads as to why the ‘Men in Blue’ had pink and green caps.
Why India Players Are Wearing Pink And Green Caps?
In case you if have the same question, the answer is really simple. ICC awards and to be specific – being a part of ICC’s team of the year in the different formats.
Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya were seen sporting pink caps as they are part of the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year 2024, along with Jasprit Bumrah, who did not receive his cap as he is out injured and not part of India’s Champions Trophy squad.
Ravindra Jadeja was seen wearing a green cap as he was named in the ICC Men’s Test Team of the Year 2024, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is also not part of India’s Champions Trophy squad.
Arshdeep Singh, who is part of the team also won the Men’s T20I Player Of The Year 2024 and received his trophy too.
The ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year 2024 has a blue cap but no Indian is part of the side.
