A Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) supporter, who got injured by a Nicholas Pooran six, returned from the hospital to celebrate his team’s victory — creating one of the most viral videos of the IPL 2025 season.
The Trinidadian showcased his power-hitting against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday, April 12. One of his maximums, however, hit a fan on the head.
The supporter was immediately taken to the hospital with a bandaged head. To everyone’s surprise, he returned to the Ekana Cricket Stadium to celebrate LSG’s victory with his fellow supporters.
A user shared the fan’s video on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Pooran hit such a six that the ball went straight to the head of a spectator. His head was injured and bloodied but the guy couldn’t stop himself from watching the match again.”
#LSGvGT #NicholasPooran pic.twitter.com/6we7QynpiE— Gaurav Pandey (@gaurav5pandey) April 13, 2025
In the video, the injured fan can be seen being stretchered away for immediate medical care. The force of Nicholas Pooran’s six was enough to require hospitalization.
As per News24online, multiple doctors later examined the LSG fan and he received eight medical stitches on his head. Although seriously injured, the cricket fan’s enthusiasm showed no signs of slowing down. He got back to watching the match following his medical care.
As for Pooran, the left-hander’s 34-ball 61 led LSG to a comfortable six-wicket victory. Apart from winning two crucial points for his team, Pooran strengthened his position as the Orange Cap holder with 349 runs in six innings.
The 29-year-old has scored four fifties this season, batting at a 215.43 strike rate. He now leads the batting charts by 20 runs with Sai Sudharsan taking second place.
Pooran revealed his happiness with LSG’s win after the match. “It is not so much about the hat [Orange Cap] but about winning the game. The wicket today was beautiful to bat on. There was not much talk. As a group, we knew we had depth, and we were batting well, so we tried to continue as much as possible,” he said.“It is not about hitting sixes for me. It is how I go about my innings. When getting the opportunity to bat at number 3, you need to make the play at times and consolidate at times. I had to be brave and take my matchup on. Today I was lucky,” he concluded.
LSG are now scheduled to face five-time champions Chennai Super Kings in their next IPL 2025 fixture. The Ekana Cricket Stadium will host the match on April 14.
