Kolkata Knight Riders recently announced Ajinkya Rahane as their captain for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. He is now amongst a selected bunch of players who have been picked to lead a franchise in the tournament.

The 2025 edition of the IPL will see some new and old faces, albeit in different colours. Amongst the franchises, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians and the Rajasthan Royals are the only teams that have kept the same skipper for the coming season.

With the mega auction, several big-name stars made the switch to another franchise, which certainly makes things interesting for the fans.  Let us take a look at the captains that will be leading a franchise in the upcoming season of the IPL.

Having built experience through the domestic circuits for the state, Patidar will now look to step up to the challenge of doing the impossible. But it remains to be seen if he will be overshadowed by the big stars or bring in his identity to the side.

Delhi Capitals – Not Announced

Delhi Capitals have not yet announced their captain for the season. Looking at the squad, it would come as no surprise if KL Rahul is picked to lead the franchise in the coming season, considering his seniority and experience.
