Here’s a look at GT’s strongest playing XI for the 2025 edition of the IPL after they retained five players and signed 20 players in the mega auction.

After failing to qualify for the IPL playoffs in 2024, the Gujarat Titans would like to come up with a big show in the IPL 2025. The Ahmedabad-based franchise retained five players from the 2024 season for Rs 51 crore and entered the IPL 2025 mega auction with a purse of Rs 69 crore. In the mega auction, GT signed 20 players for Rs 68.85 crore. England’s white-ball captain Jos Buttler, who was not retained by RR, was the team’s costliest buy for Rs 15.75 crore, and they also secured deals worth more than Rs 10 crore each for Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj and South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada.

GT used RTM for Indian spinner R Sai Kishore and is one of the three teams that has signed all 25 players.

Here’s a look at GT’s strongest playing XI for IPL 2025:

Shubman Gill (C): Shubman Gill has featured in GT’s all 45 IPL matches played so far and is the leading run scorer for the franchise. The 25-year-old right-handed Indian batter was appointed as the captain of the team last year, and he will lead the 2022 champions in the 2025 edition of the cash-rich league as well. He was retained for Rs 16.50 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Jos Buttler (WK): GT signed England’s white-ball captain Jos Buttler for Rs 15.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Butter, who has represented MI and RR in the past, has 3582 runs to his name in 107 IPL matches played so far.

Sai Sudharsan: GT retained Sai Sudharsan for Rs 8.50 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The left-handed batter made his IPL debut in 2022 and has scored 1034 runs in 25 matches played so far.

Glenn Phillips: New Zealand cricketer Glenn Phillips will play for GT in IPL 2025. The 27-year-old South African-born all-rounder has played 8 matches in the cash-rich league so far for RR and SRH and has 65 runs and two wickets to his name.

Shahrukh Khan: Tamil Nadu all-rounder Shahrukh Khan, who has played for PBKS in the past, was retained for Rs 4 crore by GT ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. In 40 IPL matches played so far, the 29-year-old cricketer has scored 553 runs.

Rahul Tewatia: Rahul Tewatia has also played in all 45 IPL matches for GT so far. The left-handed batting all-rounder was retained for Rs 4 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Tewaita, who has also represented DC, PBKS, and RR in the past, has 1013 runs and 32 wickets to his name in 93 matches.

Washington Sundar: GT managed to secure services of Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar for Rs 3.20 crore in the mega auction. Sundar has represented RPSG, RCB, and SRH in the past and has 378 runs and 37 wickets in his name in 60 IPL matches.

Rashid Khan: Premier Afghanistani spinner Rashid Khan was retained for Rs 18 crore by GT ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. He is the leading wicket-taker in the IPL for the franchise. Apart from his bowling, Rashid has won matches with his batting as well.

Kagiso Rabada: South African pacer Kagiso Rabada will play for GT in IPL 2025. He was signed for Rs 10.75 crore by the Ahmedabad-based franchise. Rabada, who has played for DC and PBKS in the past, has accounted for the dismissal of 117 batters in 80 IPL matches.

Mohammed Siraj: GT signed former SRH and RCB pacer Mohammed Siraj for Rs 12.25 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 30-year-old fast bowler made his IPL debut in 2017 and has 93 wickets to his name in 93 IPL matches played so far.

Prasidh Krishna: Former KKR and RR pacer Prasidh Krishna will play for GT in IPL 2025. He was signed for Rs 9.50 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Krishna, who missed the last editions of the IPL due to injury, overall has 49 wickets to his name in 51 matches played so far.

Others players: Sherfane Rutherford (Rs 2.60 crore), Gerald Coetzee (Rs 2.40 crore), R. Sai Kishore (Rs 2 crore, RTM), Mahipal Lomror (Rs 1.70 crore), Gurnoor Singh Brar (Rs 1.30 crore), Arshad Khan (Rs 1.30 crore), Karim Janat (Rs 75 lakh), Jayant Yadav (Rs 75 lakh), Ishant Sharma (Rs 75 lakh), Kumar Kushagra (Rs 65 lakh), Kulwant Khejroliya (Rs 30 lakh), Manav Suthar (Rs 30 lakh), Anuj Rawat (Rs 30 lakh), Nishant Sindhu (Rs 30 lakh)
