New Zealand beat India by 8 wickets, 113 runs, and 26 runs in Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai, respectively, to win three-match Test series with a scoreline of 3-0.

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has described New Zealand’s triumph over India as the ‘greatest-ever’ series win in Test cricket history. Rohit Sharma & Co. were recently whitewashed 0-3 at home by the Kiwis. It was the second time in history that India lost all matches of a home Test series.
Talking about the significance of New Zealand’s impressive feat, Vaughan wrote on X, “To win in India is incredible but to deliver a clean sweep is remarkable…has to be the greatest ever Test series victory. The ex-cricketer also highlighted India’s struggle against spinners and wrote, “India now have a group of Batters that struggle like most teams against Spin.”

India’s series whitewash at home against New Zealand was a major surprise for fans all over the world. Retired batting legend Sachin Tendulkar also reacted to the crushing loss on X.
The Master Blaster also suggested that the team must now introspect and work on their shortcomings. “Losing 3-0 at home is a tough pill to swallow, and it calls for introspection. Was it lack of preparation, was it poor shot selection or was it lack of match practice?” he said.

Sachin congratulated New Zealand for pulling off such a massive victory on Indian soil. “Full credit to New Zealand for their consistent performance throughout the series. Winning 3-0 in India is as good a result as it gets,” he wrote.
India will now be looking to gather themselves together ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024.
