Star Australian pacer Mitchell Starc offers a little warning to Indian fast bowler Harshit Rana when he bowled a bouncer to him during Australia’s first innings in the ongoing first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The incident took place during the morning session of the second day’s play at Optus Stadium in Perth. After Rana, who has picked up two wickets so far in the match, troubled Starc with his delivery, the legendary left-arm pacer can be heard saying, “Harshit, I bowl faster than you. I’ve got a long memory.”

Rana is making his international debut in the ongoing match. He received his maiden Test cap from Ravichandran Ashwin. Harshit picked his maiden Test wicket on Friday (November 22) by getting rid of Travis Head. The 22-year-old Delhi-based cricketer breached Head’s stumps and rattled his stumps.
For his second wicket of the match, Rana dismissed Nathan Lyon on Saturday morning. Lyon, who came out bat at No. 10 for the hosts, was caught by KL Rahul at the slips.
5-wicket haul for Bumrah
Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who is leading India in the match, has impressed with bowling so far. The right-arm fast bowler picked up four wickets on Day 1 and completed his five-wicket haul by getting rid of Alex Carey on the first ball of his spell on the second day. By getting rid of five Aussie batters so far, Bumrah has completed 50 wickets in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25. He is the first pacer and third Indian bowler overall after R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja to take 50 wickets in a single edition of WTC.
Bumrah opened his wicket account in the match by trapping debutant Nathan McSweeney in front of the wickets and then got rid of Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith on back-to-back deliveries. The Indian captain also dismissed his Australian counterpart Pat Cummins in the closing hours of the first day’s play, who was caught behind by Rishabh Pant.
Apart from Bumrah and Rana, Mohammed Siraj has also picked up two wickets so far.
