Hasan Ali had once said ‘King kar lega’ (King will do it) in support of Babar Azam, but on Tuesday, the Pakistan pacer was forced to issue an apology.
The term was coined by Hasan Ali in support of Babar Azam, but the connotation of it has since taken an ironic turn. Many fans have made it viral, coinciding with the Pakistan batter’s dip in form.
When Hasan Ali was asked about the same at a Pakistan Super League post-match press conference, he said, “If people think saying ‘King Kar Lega’ was a mistake, then I apologise to all fans, including Babar.”
Hasan did not back down from his original statement, reaffirming his belief in Babar Azam as he added: “He was the best, is the best, and will bounce back soon. Everyone goes through tough times.”

In fact, it was not the first time that Hasan Ali came out in support of Babar Azam.
“He is my king, he is the king of Pakistan cricket… I know people may abuse me again, but he is the best batsman of Pakistan and he has proved it,” he was quoted as saying last year.
Even though Hasan picked up four wickets, Karachi Kings eventually lost to Lahore Qalandars in the PSL.
“We’ll review things. In one match, we dominated, and in the next, our batting flopped. We’ll learn from this. If we perform, we will play. We’re still young, and I’ve been one of the best bowlers in T20 matches. I always train with the mindset of making a comeback. The rest depends on the national team selection committee and what they think,” Hasan Ali said about the match.
