Australian batter Travis Head made an incredible 140 runs against India at his hometown of Adelaide on Saturday to take the hosts’ first innings total to 337 runs in reply to India’s 180-run showing in the second Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Head’s wife, Jessica was in attendance along with their newborn boy Harrison and first-born Milla to bask in the glory of her partner’s century.

“It was amazing. It can’t get any better than getting a hundred at Adelaide,” Jessica said.

Jessica added how special Adelaide is to the Head family and how producing the crucial knock in front of his loved ones made it much more special.

“This is our home ground, for both Travis and I,” she continued.

“This is a really special place for Travis. It is one of his favourite places to play and doing it in front of his family and his friends.”

“Pretty much everyone is here. His brother, his sister, his parents, his uncles, and my whole family is here and that is why it is so special,” Mrs Head added.

“He loves his family and friends and doing it here is just that much more special,” she stated.

Head did the cradle rock celebration following his milestone in a nod to his newborn Harrison, who is five weeks old and was in attendance at the game for the very first time, along with big sister Milla.

“We have just got a newborn, it was his first game and doing it in front of all of us was just amazing,” she said.

Jessica reflected on how Head did the very same celebration when the couple had just had their first child and it was special to replicate the same in front of their second child.

“I think he got a hundred on Milla’s first game at the stadium as well, and now he has done the same at Harrison’s first game, so it is very special,” Jessica reminisced.

“It is definitely more special. Not sure if it is because I know more about cricket now or because I have been a mum in the last two years,” she jested.

Australia posted a 158-run lead over India ahead of the tourists’ second innings thanks to Travis’ knock that featured 17 fours and 4 sixes.
