The summit clash is scheduled to take place at Bellerive Oval in Hobart and will start at 1:45 PM IST. Hobart topped the league table this season and booked a place in the final by getting the better of the Sydney Sixers by 12 runs in the qualifier match played in Hobart on January 21. On the other hand, Thunder made it to the title decider first by beating Melbourne Stars in the knockout match and then securing a four-wicket win over Sydney Sixers in the challenger match played at Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday, January 24.
Hurricanes will start in the final win as favorites, but they can’t afford to take Thunder lightly. Both teams faced each other twice in the ongoing season but the first match got washed out due to rain in Sydney and in the second match at Bellerive Oval, Hurricanes secured a dominating win by six wickets.
While the Hobart-based side will look to secure a second win in a row over Thunder in the final and bag the BBL title for the first time in history, Thunder will aim to settle the score and become BBL champions again after nine years.
