Virat Kohli will be live in action in Delhi.

In a rare opportunity for Indian cricket fans in Delhi, Virat Kohli will be in live action at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on the Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg. He has been named in Delhi’s squad against the Railways team in the 2025 Ranji Trophy, his first such appearance in the tournament since 2012.

The entry for Ranji Trophy matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium has historically been free with no requirement for any tickets and the tradition will continue for this match as well. The Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) is expecting thousands of people to come and watch the match but the entry is said to be on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The DDCA usually opens one stand for spectators in domestic games but for this game, three stands at the Ambedkar Stadium End will be opened.

“Gate Nos. 7, 15, and 16 will be open to the public. We will arrange for drinking water, and the toilets will be clean and hygienic. Come and enjoy the match. Of course, there will be security checks before allowing the public to enter,” DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma told PTI.

The DDCA has also beefed up security arrangements for the match.

“We know Virat’s presence raises the profile of the match. Normally, we have 10 to 12 private security personnel for a regular Ranji match, but we will definitely increase security so that Virat can train without any disturbance. We have also informed the Delhi Police about the match,” Sharma added.

What other stars could be in action?

Despite his stature as one of India’s greatest-ever Test captains, Kohli won’t lead Delhi in this match. The team’s regular skipper, 25-year-old Ayush Badoni, will lead the team. Apart from him, fans can watch out for Indian pacer Navdeep Saini and former under-19 captain Yash Dhull who are also in the squad.

Delhi’s Squad For the Railways Clash: Ayush Badoni (captain), Virat Kohli, Pranav Rajvanshi (wk), Sanat Sangwan, Arpit Rana, Mayank Gusain, Shivam Sharma, Sumit Mathur, Vansh Bedi (wk), Money Grewal, Harsh Tyagi, Siddhant Sharma, Navdeep Saini, Yash Dhull, Gagan Vats, Jonty Sidhu, Himmat Singh, Vaibhav Kandpal, Rahul Gehlot and Jitesh Singh.
