Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has said that he will play in the Indian Premier League if he gets an opportunity but if he doesn’t, he will feature in the Pakistan Super League, as he yet again expressed his desire to feature in the top-tier T20 league in India.
The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League and PSL 2025 are ongoing, with Amir representing the Quetta Gladiators.
Speaking to Geo News, Amir was asked to pick between the Pakistan Super League and IPL, if a scheduling conflict would happen, and he had a straightforward answer.
“Honestly, if I get the opportunity, I’ll play in the IPL. I’m saying this openly. But if I don’t get a chance, then I will play in the PSL. By next year, I will have the opportunity to play in the IPL and if given the chance, then why not?” Amir said.
“I don’t think IPL and PSL will clash next year. Because this year, the ICC Champions Trophy was everything. If I get picked in PSL first, then I can’t pull off, as I will be banned from the tournament,” Amir added.
Meanwhile, Amir has picked four wickets in three matches in PSL, although he has been a tad bit expensive with his economy at 9.73.
Meanwhile, terrorists struck at a prime tourist location in Pahalgam in south Kashmir on Tuesday, killing at least 26 people, tourists and injuring multiple others, increasing complications in the already muddled India-Pakistan relationship.
A day after 26 people passed away in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, people from all walks of life in Delhi came together to express solidarity with the victims through candlelight marches and protests on Wednesday.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a candlelight vigil at Jantar Mantar, where the party’s Delhi unit chief, Saurabh Bharadwaj, condemned the terror strike, the deadliest in the Kashmir Valley since the 2019 Pulwama attack.
The Congress’ youth wing held a candle march at its Raisina Road office and with increasing protests, it is highly unlikely a Pakistan-origin cricketer will be allowed to play in IPL 2026.
