India’s premier bowling pair, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin have taken the top two spots in the ICC Men’s Bowling rankings for the Test format. The two senior bowlers are currently part of the national team for the ongoing series against New Zealand with the second game being played in Pune.

Bumrah takes the top spot in the Test bowler’s rankings with 871 points while Ashwin is behind by 22 points with 849 points in the second position. The latter is also the leading wicket-taker in the 2023-25 cycle of the World Test Championship while the former currently sits at fifth as well in the wicket-taking charts.

The Australian fast-bowling pair of Josh Hazlewood and the skipper Pat Cummins have taken the third and fourth positions respectively in the Test bowling rankings.

South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada is the highest-ranked Proteas bowler who shares the fourth spot alongside Cummins. The South African pacer has been in blistering form of late as he reached the 500 Test wicket milestone during the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh.

New Zealand’s fast-bowling pair of Matt Henry and Kyle Jamieson has taken the ninth and tenth spots in the rankings with 751 and 707 ranking points respectively. The former was part of the national side during the first Test against India in Bengaluru and has gone on to miss the second game due to a niggle. Jamieson on the other hand, last played a Test for the Kiwis during the home game against South Africa at Mount Maunganui in February, earlier this year.
