The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the complete schedule for the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Host nation India will face Sri Lanka in the opening match on 30 September 2025 in Bengaluru.

Current champions Australia will begin their title defence against Trans-Tasman rivals and reigning T20 World Cup champions New Zealand in Indore on 1 October.

The ICC confirmed the schedule for the eight-team tournament on Monday. The event will be held in India and Sri Lanka from 30 September to 2 November.

Matches will be played across five cities in the two countries: Bengaluru, Vizag, Indore, Guwahati, and Colombo.

One semi-final will be hosted in Bengaluru, with the other taking place in either Colombo or Guwahati. The final is scheduled for 2 November in either Bengaluru or Colombo.

The tournament will feature a single round-robin format among the eight teams, with the top four advancing to the semi-finals.

Prior to the tournament, each team will participate in two warm-up matches, commencing on 24 September.

India will face 2022 runners-up England in Bengaluru on 24 September, followed by a match against South Africa three days later in Guwahati.

This will be the 13th edition of the tournament, which first began in 1973. Defending champions Australia, who secured their seventh title in 2022, topped the ICC Women’s Championship standings, guaranteeing automatic qualification alongside the top six teams.

England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka also qualified through the Women’s Championship, joining hosts India. The remaining two places were determined at the Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier earlier this year.

Pakistan and Bangladesh secured their berths by finishing in the top two at the Qualifier in April.
