MI Emirates have signed Paras Mhambrey as the bowling coach and Carl Hopkinson as the fielding coach for the upcoming season of the ILT20.
The defending champions of the ILT20 have announced key additions to their coaching lineup for the upcoming 2025 season, appointing Paras Mhambrey as the Bowling Coach and Carl Hopkinson as the Fielding Coach.
Mhambrey, who was recently named the Bowling Coach for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record. A long-standing member of the #OneFamily, Mhambrey has been part of IPL 2023 and two Champions League T20 victories with Mumbai Indians. He joins the ILT20 champions fresh off a triumphant stint as the Bowling Coach of the Indian Men’s team during their victorious T20 World Cup campaign.
Hopkinson, nicknamed “Hoppo,” also joins with impressive credentials, having served as the Fielding Coach for the England Men’s cricket team over the past seven years. His expertise was pivotal in England’s historic wins at the ODI World Cup in 2019 and the T20 World Cup in 2022. Additionally, he played a key role in England’s ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022 campaign, where the team reached the final for the first time since 1998 and finished as runners-up.
The duo will collaborate with Robin Singh, who continues as Head Coach, and Vinay Kumar, who retains his role as Assistant Coach, ensuring a blend of fresh ideas and continuity in the team’s coaching structure.
With these strategic appointments, the ILT20 champions are poised for another strong season, aiming to defend their title with a robust and experienced coaching team at the helm.
Meanwhile, the franchise has bid goodbye to the likes of Mitchell McClenaghan and James Franklin, two loyal soldiers of the Mumbai Indians over the years, and wished them all the best.
“Thank you for all the memories in the desert,” the franchise wrote in its official release.
