Rain played spoilsport on the opening day of Team India’s third Test match against Australia in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 25 at The Gabba as only 13.2 overs of play was possible due to the inclement weather conditions present in the Australian city of Brisbane.
However, fans of the sport might get to witness more action on Day 2 of the third Test between the heavyweights as the weather forecast appears a bit more promising for the game to go on.

But, Days 3 and 4, Monday and Tuesday respectively might witness more downpour with a 70 per cent chance of showers forecast by relevant authorities.
Saturday witnessed 80 deliveries of the rec cherry being bowled as Australia, who were put to bat after Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the coin toss, managed to make 28 runs without losing any wickets before the play was halted.
The series stands level at 1-1 after the conclusion of two games in the five-match Test series as Australia pegged their way back to even terms with a 10-wicket win over the tourists at Adelaide Oval, following their 295-run defeat to India in the opening Test of the BGT at Perth.
India, who were led by star seamer Jasprit Bumrah in the absence of Rohit in the first Test due to paternal leave, picked up a stunning win against the hosts to upset the status quo thanks to some incredible bowling from the pacer par excellence himself. He was helped by tons from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli as India shushed naysayers after a whitewash at home to the New Zealand unit ahead of the tour of Australia.
However, the Aussies were quick to restore parity as Pat Cummins and Co. clawed their way back to level terms thanks to some sensational batting from hometown hero Travis Head, who registered an incredible century, before Cummins picked up a fifer to bundle out the Indian side and seal a memorable win.
