Both India and the PM’s XI have agreed to play a 50-over per-side game on Day 2 ahead of the pink ball Test in Adelaide.
After the first day’s play between India and the Prime Minister’s XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra was abandoned, both teams came to an agreement that they would play a 50-over game on the second day.
As confirmed by the official post on X by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the second day’s play will begin at 9:10 AM (IST) on Sunday where both teams will look to sharpen their skills with both bat and ball.
For India, the players must get some good practice with the pink ball before they head to Adelaide for the second Test against Australia. Having won the first Test in Perth, they will look to continue their good form and extend their lead in the series.
In addition, the likes of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will also look to get some practice under their belt. The Indian skipper missed out on the first Test to be with his family for the birth of his second child. He joined the squad midway into the Perth Test and will look to find his form at the top of the order.
Update: PM’s XI v India – Manuka OvalPlay has been abandoned for Day 1 and will resume tomorrow (Sunday) at 9:10 am IST. Coin toss will be at 8:40 am IST.

Gill, on the other hand, missed out on the first Test due to a thumb fracture. He has been seen training in the nets again showing positive signs that he might be ready for Adelaide.
Within the Australian setup, Scott Boland will be one to watch out for. With Josh Hazlewood being ruled out of the second Test due to injury, the Victorian pacer will be a front-runner to be picked as the side’s third pacer to partner Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc.
Should Boland put up a good performance, there should be no concerns about picking him in the 11 considering his stellar record bowling on Australian soil. In the six Tests he played on home turf, he has picked up a total of 28 wickets, at an average of 12.21 with his best bowling figures being 6/7.
Australia will be keen to hit back with a fighting performance to level the series but the Indian team seem to have found their groove again after a poor performance against New Zealand and will fancy themselves to take the win in Adelaide as well.
