Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan has won the toss and opted to bat first in the Champions Trophy 2025 match against India, which is currently underway at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. For the second Group A match of the ongoing eight-team ICC tournament, Team India has retained the same XI that took the field against Bangladesh in Dubai on Thursday, February 20, and comfortably won the match by 6 wickets.

There were reports of mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy replacing Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI in the build-up of the match, but the 30-year-old spinner from Kanpur, who has dismissed 12 Pakistani batters in six ODIs played so far, has managed to retain his place in the playing XI.

The match against India in Dubai is a must-win for the Men in Green in order to keep their chances alive of qualifying for the semi-finals. The hosts suffered a humiliating defeat by 60 runs against the Kiwis in the first match of the Champions Trophy 2025.
