The Indian team have left Canberra and are on their way to Adelaide for the 2nd Test against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

After the practice game against the Prime Minister’s XI at Canberra’s Manuka Oval, Team India is en route to Adelaide for the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma ticked a lot of boxes ahead of the pink ball Test. Harshit Rana, Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj performed well with the ball. Rana who made his debut in Perth looked to be in good touch as he was the pick of the Indian bowlers with figures of 4/44.
Among the batters, the opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul continued their good form as they stitched together a 75-run stand. Shubman Gill, who was ruled out of the first Test, scored a half-century while Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar scored 42 runs each.
The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma came out to bat at number four but had an uneventful outing as he was dismissed cheaply at just 3 off 11 balls.
In a video uploaded by RevSportz, some of the members of the Indian team like Gill are seen making their way to the team bus ahead of their travel to Adelaide.
The return of Rohit and Gill means that India has a full-strength squad going into the rest of the series. They will look to capitalise on the win at Perth and hope to extend their lead in the series.
To qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) final for the 2023-25 cycle without factoring in the results from other games, India would have to win four games and draw one in the five-match Test series against Australia.
Australia on the other hand, looked frail in comparison to the visitors. Their batting has come under severe scrutiny with the top order failing to fire. They took a punt at giving Nathan McSweeney a shot to open with Usman Khawaja but the young opening batter, Sam Konstas has made a strong case for his selection after scoring a hundred for the PM’s XI.
The bowling unit has also not looked at their best with Pat Cummins and Co missing the trick when it came to their plans against India in Perth. With the pink ball Test coming up, Australia will need to find their mojo and fire on all cylinders, if they are to come back into the contest.
