The highly anticipated 2024/25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy action will move to Brisbane on December 14. The five-match Test series is tied at 1-1 after Australia pulled off a dominant victory by 10 wickets in Adelaide. Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc made the most of the pink ball, keeping Indian batters humble during the second Test. India was dismissed for scores of 180 and 175 across both innings. The host side needed just 19 runs in their second innings in Adelaide to level the series. Travis Head was awarded the Player of the Match for a mammoth knock of 140. Both sides will now look to secure a second victory at The Gabba.

Key players to watch out for in the 3rd India-Australia Test:

Virat Kohli

Despite a poor show at Adelaide Oval, Virat Kohli will be a key player for India in the third Test at The Gabba. Kohli began the series with a bang, scoring a century in Perth during India’s second innings. With the pressure slowly rising, the veteran batter will now be looking to lead the visitors to a statement victory in Brisbane.

Travis Head

Travis Head has developed a reputation for delivering match-winning performances against India. It was visible during the Adelaide Test, where he smashed a quick-fire 140 to pave the way for Australia’s 10-wicket victory.

Rohit Sharma

India skipper Rohit Sharma is currently going through a rough patch. He failed to deliver in the pink-ball Test, putting up scores of three and six. Rohit will now be eyeing regaining his form in the Brisbane Test to improve India’s chances of making the World Test Championship final next year.

Mitchell Starc

Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc is seemingly ageing like fine wine. The veteran fast bowler was spotless during the day-night Test, especially during India’s first innings. He finished the game with eight wickets that proved instrumental in Australia’s 10-wicket win. With Josh Hazlewood set to return, Starc will be looking to form a strong bowling partnership in Brisbane to help Australia take the series lead.

Jasprit Bumrah

While Jasprit Bumrah has been dealing with some physical issues in his left thigh, he continues to be a key player for India. All eyes will be on the star bowler during the upcoming Test. Bumrah has taken 12 wickets in the series so far. He will hope to find more success for India at The Gabba.
