Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Boxing Day Test: India and Australia will lock horns at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26 with an eye on taking series lead.
Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 resumes with the iconic Boxing Day Test with not much separating India and Australia in the ongoing five-match series. India took 1-0 lead with a 295-run win in Perth but handed Australia hit back with a 10-wicket win in Adelaide. The third Test in Brisbane was heavily impacted by rain and eventually ended in a draw.
India will be hoping for their big names especially in the batting department to step up. Among the bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah continues to be a class apart but others around him have to chip in more.
Australia will be happy that Travis Head has been passed fit for the fourth Test given his excellent form. They will be delighted with Steve Smith’s returning to form as well.

MCG Pitch report
The Melbourne Cricket Ground’s pitch is generally quite competitive, providing a balance to both bowlers and batters. Bowlers tend to benefit early in the game, taking advantage of the nice bounce. When the pitch gets older, batters tend to find more comfort in playing their shots easily.
