The Indian cricket team will be aiming to continue the winning momentum and clinch another victory in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The second Test between India and Australia, a pink-ball contest, will be held at the Adelaide Oval from Friday.

The visitors kicked off the series on a promising note having earned a resounding 295-run victory in the opening contest played in Perth. The Aussies will be without fast bowler Josh Hazlewood in the day-night Test. Hazlewood has been ruled out of the game due to fitness concerns and Scott Boland has walked in as replacement. This marks Boland’s return to the Test team after nearly a year and a half.

Meanwhile, India will be buoyed by the return of their regular skipper Rohit Sharma. Rohit could not take part in the Test series opener due to personal reasons. Along with Rohit, Shubman Gill is also expected to make a comeback to the playing XI for the second Test.

Gill did not feature in the Perth Test because of a thumb injury and in his place, Devdutt Padikkal had batted at the number three position.

Ahead of the second Test, India took part in several training sessions and they also competed in a day-night practice match against a Prime Minister’s XI. The visitors had won that game by six wickets.

India vs Australia 2nd Test Match Schedule, Date And Time: The second Test between India and Australia is scheduled to start on Friday, December 6 at the Adelaide Oval. The match will start at 9:30 am IST on each of the five days.
