India (IND) vs Bangladesh (BAN) 2nd Test, Day 5 LIVE: India lost Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill early in the chase but Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli have kept them on course for a clean sweep. Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin shared nine wickets as India bowled out Bangladesh for 146 and now need 95 runs in two sessions to win the Kanpur Test for a 2-0 clean sweep. India’s push for a win in the rain-truncated 2nd Test has paid rich dividends as they have outclassed Bangladesh thus far despite two days being lost to rain and damp outfield.
An interesting Day 5 of the 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh awaits at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. A cracker of a final day with the Indian team in pole position to go all the way. It took a herculean effort from the batting unit to help them take the first innings lead. Now it will be up to the Indian bowling unit to follow suit and hopefully get all eight remaining wickets to end Bangladesh’s batting innings and also give enough time for the Indian batters to chase down whatever the target may be.
As for the weather, the good news is that it is very unlikely that we get to see rain interrupt play on the final day. With play likely to go on till 5 PM (IST), Rohit Sharma and co will look to go all-out in hopes of securing a win.
At the moment it is only Ravichandran Ashwin who has been able to get the two wickets so far. It is only natural to expect the classy Jasprit Bumrah to get himself back in the game at some point to deliver some cracking deliveries.
