India vs England 1st T20I Live Telecast: India and England are set to go head-to-head in the first T20I of the five-match series starting January 22. The Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the contest from 7 PM IST onwards. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav is returning to action after nearly two months. He last led the Men in Blue in a four-match T20I series in South Africa and secured a 3-1 triumph. Mohammed Shami is also set to make his India return for the first time since the 2023 ODI World Cup. He will spearhead the pace attack, alongside Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana.
India also have a strong spin unit featuring the likes of vice-captain Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakravarthy and Washington Sundar. Rishabh Pant hasn’t been picked for the series. Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel are the two designated wicketkeeper-batters.
England also have a strong team which will be led by Jos Buttler. Besides experienced played like Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Jofra Archer and Mark Wood, some talented youngsters are part of the unit. Eyes will be on Jacob Bethell who became England’s third-youngest half-centurion in the ODI format last year. The 21-year-old has already struck two fifties in his seven T20I appearances.
