The Indian men’s cricket team is taking on Australia in the first semifinal match of the Champions Trophy 2025 on Tuesday (March 4). The high-voltage match between the two most successful teams in Champions Trophy history is taking place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Australian captain Steve Smith won the toss and opted to bat first, after which, riding on his 73-run knock from 96 balls and wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey’s 61 off 57 deliveries, Men in Yellow posted a total of 264 runs on the board for the loss of 10 wickets in 49.3 overs.

India need to chase down the target of 265 runs in 50 overs now, and if Rohit Sharma’s men manage to achieve the objective, then the world No. 1 ODI team will qualify for the final of the Champions Trophy 2025.

Rohit Sharma’s 99 and Manish Pandey’s 104 from 81 balls helped Men in Blue beat Australia by 6 wickets in the ODI match played at Sydney Cricket Ground on January 23, 2016. Aussies rode on David Warner’s (122) and Mitchell Marsh’s (102*) centuries to post a challenging total of 330/7 runs on the board, but India chased it down for the loss of just 4 wickets in 49.4 overs and secured a famous win.

299/4 in Adelaide on January 15, 2019

Captain Virat Kohli scored 104 runs from 112 balls after coming out to bat at No. 3 to help India successfully chase down the target of 299 runs in 49.2 overs for the loss of four wickets and win the match played at Adelaide Oval on January 15, 2019 by six wickets. In addition to that, MS Dhoni (55 not out) and Rohit Sharma (43 from 52 balls) also played impact knocks.

294/5 in Indore on September 24, 2017

India beat Australia by 5 wickets in Indore on September 24, 2017, by chasing down the target of 294 runs in 47.5 overs for the loss of just five wickets. Rohit Sharma (71), Ajinkya Rahane (70), and Hardik Pandya (78) scored half-centuries for the Virat Kohli-led side in the match played at Holkar Stadium.
