The first T20I of the five-match series between India and England is scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday, January 22. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the hosts, and the English team will play under the leadership of Jos Buttler. India has won 13 out of the last 15 matches, and under Surya’s leadership, the 2024 T20 World Cup winners would like to extend the winning run in front of passionate Kolkata fans on Wednesday.
Mohammed Shami is making his long-awaited India comeback, and the 34-year-old fast bowler could play for the first time since the ODI World Cup 2023 final on Wednesday. In addition to him, all eyes will also be on Sanju Samson, who, despite scoring a century in his last ODI as well as T20I match, failed to find a place in India’s Champions Trophy 2025 squad.
