The Indian men’s cricket team will face Australia in the second Test of the ongoing five-match series at Adelaide Oval. The match is scheduled to start on Friday (December 6) and will be played with a pink ball. India won the series opener in Perth last month by getting the better of the hosts by 295 runs, and the visitors will be eager to build on that show in Adelaide and defeat the Aussies once again to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
After missing the series opener in Perth due to the birth of his second child, Rohit Sharma is all set to lead India in the pink ball Test, and star batter Shubman Gill is also almost certain to get picked in the playing XI. Gill missed the first Test due to a thumb injury, and in his place, Devdutt Padikkal batted at No. 3.
On the other hand, Aussies will miss the services of star pacer Josh Hazlewood. Hazlewood, who picked up a five-wicket haul against India in the last Test played between the two teams at Adelaide Oval in December 2020, has been ruled out of the match due to an injury.
