Siraj was into his 11th over when he picked up the injury. After bowling the first couple of deliveries, he began stretching his left leg before the physio came in to attend him. After examining him for a few minutes, the physio escorted Siraj to the dressing room. Pacer Akash Deep replaced him and completed the over.
The social media was stirred with Siraj heading back to the hut in pain. The netizens began reacting to the incident, expressing concern over the pacer’s condition.

Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah struck early on Day 2 and dismissed the Australian openers to put India in a commanding position. Left-hander Usman Khawaja edged one to the keeper after scoring 21, while Nathan McSweeney fell for just 9. The day began on schedule under pleasant weather conditions, setting the stage for an intriguing contest.
The much-anticipated Gabba Test got off to a damp start. Only 80 deliveries were bowled on the opening morning of the Brisbane Test before persistent showers forced play to be abandoned. It was far from the ideal beginning for either side in a match with stakes as high as determining the series winner and potentially influencing the World Test Championship standings.
Despite the disrupted start, both teams remain optimistic. With the series so far characterized by brisk action, there’s every chance that even a truncated game could deliver an exhilarating spectacle.
