The former RCB man has found a new home in Sanjiv Goenka’s LSG, who are set to be led by wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant in the upcoming IPL 2025 season.
Indian pacer Akash Deep has been signed by Lucknow Super Giants for a surprising Rs 8 Crore at the IPL 2025 auction in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
Akash first made his entry into the limelight of the IPL by being picked for RCB in 2022 for his base price of Rs. 20 lakhs. Since then his career has taken an upward turn and he has been constantly performing at the domestic level.
His big moment under the sun came when he got an India Test cap on February 2024 at Ranchi versus England. The pacer reapyed the faith of the selector back by putting in impressive outings in red-ball cricket in the sub-continent conditions.
In 5 Test matches for India, Akash scalped 10 wickets and is known for providing early breakthroughs with the new ball.
In the IPL so far, the Bengal pacer has taken 8 wickets in 8 matches with a personal-best showing of 3/45.
In his debut season, he played 5 games and picked up 5 wickets. In IPL 2023, he could play only 2 games before playing a solitary game in IPL 2024.
