IPL 2025 Points Table, Orange Cap and Purple Cap after CSK vs SRH: Sunrisers Hyderabad hammered Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets on Friday (April 25) to win the IPL 2025 match played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The win over the MS Dhoni-led side is SRH’s first-ever win against the Chennai-based franchise at the iconic stadium in Chennai. In the match, which was a must-win fixture for both, pacer Harshal Patel finished with figures of 4 for 28 in four overs after Pat Cummins invited the Men in Yellow to bat first, and two CSK batters each were sent back to the pavilion by Jaydev Unadkat and the Australian Test captain.
In the 155-run chase, Ishan Kishan scored 44 runs for Orange Army from 34 balls, and Kamindu Mendis remained unbeaten on 32 runs from 22 balls. The Sri Lankan all-rounder, who also picked up one wicket and completed one brilliant catch, added 49 runs for the sixth wicket with Nitish Kumar Reddy (19 runs) to seal the deal for the Men in Orange.
The third win of the ongoing season helped SRH overtake Rajasthan Royals and rise to 8th position in the points table, whereas with 4 points after nine matches, CSK remain at the bottom.

Orange Cap
South African batter Dewald Brevis made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings on Friday and top-scored for the franchise. He came out to bat at No. 5 and, with the help of one four and four sixes, scored 42 runs from 25 balls. He added 40 runs for the fifth wicket with Shivam Dube (12 from nine balls). Apart from Brevis, 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre scored 30 from 19 balls for MS Dhoni’s men and Deepak Hooda contributed 22 runs from 21 balls.
For SRH, Ishan scored 44 runs, but Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen and Abhishek Sharma could only manage to score 19, 7 and 0 runs, respectively. With 288 runs to his name in nine matches, Klaasen is 11th on the list of leading run getters in IPL 2025, which is led by GT’s Sai Sudharsan. The left-handed batter is followed by RCB’s Virat Kohli, LSG’s Nicholas Pooran, MI’s Suryakumar Yadav and GT’s Jos Buttler.

Purple Cap
Harshal dismissed four CSK batters for 28 runs in four overs, and his best figures of this year’s IPL helped him take the fourth position in the list of leading wicket-takers. The two-time Purple Cap winner has accounted for the dismissal of 13 batters in eight IPL matches played so far for SRH.
For Chennai Super Kings, left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed picked up one wicket, and two SRH batters were sent back to the pavilion by Noor Ahmad. With 14 points to his name in nine matches, Noor is third in the highest wicket-takers list, and Khaleel is in 9th position.
